Argentenian Soccer League

Hi Friends,

Today's topic will be the Argentinian Soccer league or as they call it, "Primera Division" or First division.

First I like to ask lenience from the Argentian public or readers with experience with South American leagues as the purpose of this blog is to familiarizize the novice handicapper with this league at  basic level and is only an introduction, an invitation for the reader to probe further if that is his preference.

A short form blog cannot do justice to the rich history of Argentinian soccer over the year and comparisons to any American sport or culture is only made to convey the ambiance of any given setting.

Argentinian soccer is more than just a sport, in many respects in my humble observations is part of the essence of every city, town or province in the country. People follow the home team for generation dating back more than 100 years.

Unlike other leagues, say Mexico, Brazil and the United States recently, Salaries of soccer players on average are not high, in many respects it's a sellers market as many Argentinian soccer players are exported some in their teens to other leagues around the world. Messi leaving home as a teen would be the perfect example.

But this fervor and passion the only things that I can think of off hand as far as a comparison would be for example college football towns, specially the SEC or an Oregon, Notradame.... or Greenbay at a professional level.

As far as the basic player relations to the fans and town it wold be more akin to Baseball in the 50's where players lived in the neighborhoods they played it like the Brooklyn Dodgers for example.

This close sense of Identity with the local teams and passion for the game in my opinion creates a league of not loosing first. Never let the cross town rival the pleasure of leaving your field with a victory. Unlike other sports soccer has the draw. But defensively is one of the toughest in usually keeping their over under right at 2 instead of the usual 2.5 that translates into basically and over under of 20% LESS SCORING

In no way think that games are any less exciting, if anything the rareness of the goal creates more of an ecstasy when it finally arrives.

This makes in my observations the elite forwards very desirable for export because their effectiveness per shot is usually higher because on average the shots on goal are fewer and passing and striking needs to be precises.

What does this mean to you.... Basically this is a harder league to handicap in all respects betting an under when it's only 2 takes some stones when compared to other leagues. But handicapping the toughest leagues around the world will only make you a better handicapper all around.

In all the time handicapping this league I don't think I've had an edge greater than 1.5% in any game unless I'm able to hit it with some unaccounted for information.

It's not for everyone and definitely not for the casual bettor, but i you want to be a true handicapper then this is a not miss exercise.

Keep making money my book bitchez,

C'MON LETS CASH!
