AMERICA VS TIJUANA DATING THE EX

Hi Folks,

We are in week 2 in the Mexican Soccer league and the richest team in the MX is America.
They are the equivalent of the Yankees would be the closest analogy I could make for this team. It's the team of the Upper classes of Mexico by far and the 2nd team most beloved outside of Mexico.

Not only by Mexicans but because they do buy international players and the fact they are owned by the biggest media company in Mexico helps. Since they promote the team thru shows that are aired thru out Latin America.

With that said this team always tries to hire the biggest guns from last season or players from other teams that have performed well.

Tijuana is a recent newcomer to the MX winning a championship with the current coach of America.

They are a solid team trying to rebuild after a few championship pieces have moved on.

America should be strong enough to pull out the win at home.

Shop it!

Cheers,

Oz

The Mexican Soccer league is set to start

Greetings

From what ever part of the world you are reading this from.

This is Ozzie2005 your friendly neighborhood capper getting you ready for another great season of soccer from our friends south of the border.

Now, let me go over the intent of these blogs.

They are specifically to give you an informational edge regarding what your plays should be should you decide in playing these games in what ever legal form is available in your country.

With that said it is also to give you a cushion for the NFL season as most of you will take it in the shorts and this will be a nice offset for that burning feeling you get after most Monday nights.

For that I will focus this series of blogs mostly on Soccer, Hockey and 1 NFL play once the season starts.

Lets begin shall we.

The Mexican Soccer league like most soccer leagues around the world is one of tradition and regional passions.

This week we'll examine Las Chivas rayadas de Guadalajara. Probably the most beloved team anywhere outside the Mexican borders as this team is made up completely of national born players. Can you Imagine that in "Baseball" I think that would be a great Idea to grow the sport but it will never happen.

Chivas the last several years have been a Soccer version of the Dallas Cowboys. With the last few coaches hand picked by the owner and his wife to do their bidding and when that plan fails miserably as it usually does in these cases they hire someone better qualified .... then they fire him for sexual harassment... No it's not a joke...

With that said I think based on the raw talent that they have acquired in the off season and the pressure that is mounting on ownership to produce at least a competitive team they are the right side against Chiapas, a second tier team that always has a great offense... and not much else.

With that said let's kick off the season right.

HOCKEY LOCK OUT! ... gives you an edge!

Well folks,

Yet again we have another dick measuring contest by hockey, shooting itself in the foot once again after trying so hard to rebuild. You think they learned the first time but, the love of profit is always the hook that makes things interesting to say the least.

How will this affect the lines once this is over? This has to be over, or hockey for all purposes will be sitting at number 5 behind boxing, because like it or not the MLS already won the battle for 4th, same amount of countries plus international play building new stadiums & kids playing all over the US.

When these guys figure it out when teams come back, most of us will be dying to hit our favorite teams, public ones the most no matter how back or mediocre they are, on top of that. Offense will be key to bring back eyeballs.

Do you really want to see The Devils and Bruins win a 2 nothing game or will they have the Jets and Philly on a 5-4 battle? ratings rating ratings = ticket sales = goals

This doesn't mean to blindly bet the overs and fade favorites but in what ever game you determine you have an advantage if you play in on the fade big teams or a well studied over at least another half percent is in order on the play on week one of their return.

With that I'll leave you gentlemen,

Let's hope we can hit'em soon1

Cheers!

Argentenian Soccer League

Hi Friends,

Today's topic will be the Argentinian Soccer league or as they call it, "Primera Division" or First division.

First I like to ask lenience from the Argentian public or readers with experience with South American leagues as the purpose of this blog is to familiarizize the novice handicapper with this league at  basic level and is only an introduction, an invitation for the reader to probe further if that is his preference.

A short form blog cannot do justice to the rich history of Argentinian soccer over the year and comparisons to any American sport or culture is only made to convey the ambiance of any given setting.

Argentinian soccer is more than just a sport, in many respects in my humble observations is part of the essence of every city, town or province in the country. People follow the home team for generation dating back more than 100 years.

Unlike other leagues, say Mexico, Brazil and the United States recently, Salaries of soccer players on average are not high, in many respects it's a sellers market as many Argentinian soccer players are exported some in their teens to other leagues around the world. Messi leaving home as a teen would be the perfect example.

But this fervor and passion the only things that I can think of off hand as far as a comparison would be for example college football towns, specially the SEC or an Oregon, Notradame.... or Greenbay at a professional level.

As far as the basic player relations to the fans and town it wold be more akin to Baseball in the 50's where players lived in the neighborhoods they played it like the Brooklyn Dodgers for example.

This close sense of Identity with the local teams and passion for the game in my opinion creates a league of not loosing first. Never let the cross town rival the pleasure of leaving your field with a victory. Unlike other sports soccer has the draw. But defensively is one of the toughest in usually keeping their over under right at 2 instead of the usual 2.5 that translates into basically and over under of 20% LESS SCORING

In no way think that games are any less exciting, if anything the rareness of the goal creates more of an ecstasy when it finally arrives.

This makes in my observations the elite forwards very desirable for export because their effectiveness per shot is usually higher because on average the shots on goal are fewer and passing and striking needs to be precises.

What does this mean to you.... Basically this is a harder league to handicap in all respects betting an under when it's only 2 takes some stones when compared to other leagues. But handicapping the toughest leagues around the world will only make you a better handicapper all around.

In all the time handicapping this league I don't think I've had an edge greater than 1.5% in any game unless I'm able to hit it with some unaccounted for information.

It's not for everyone and definitely not for the casual bettor, but i you want to be a true handicapper then this is a not miss exercise.

Keep making money my book bitchez,

Novice Handicap 101

Ladies and Gentlemen,

If you are interested in capping Hockey, October is closing in and September games are around the corner. If you new to Hockey handicapping and you are looking for some pointers to sharpen you skills, lets see if we can give you a running start.

As my basic rules I have some things that I use as cornerstones of my hockey handicap.

1. Power Rankings, basic is fine stat based, past performance what ever your experience serves you best. I does not have to be perfect as trades injuries and performance will adjust numbers thru the season.

2. SCHEDULE, SCHEDULE, SCHEDULE look at it. See what games you really want to play, your favorites rivals or situations.

3. Work on the numbers, Evaluate the games that you want to play in when? what should the puckline be? How about the vig? Over Under?

Compare those to what you see the numbers really are and look for an advantage, based on past performance or what ever you think your edge is. Where your outcomes are wrong you can adjust your numbers. Test your theories. For that reason don't force anything. Being selective and observing will pay dividends in the future. Although some basic rules are all the same handicapping styles vary and you should choose what ever fits you best.

Here are some things you should avoid. Vegas does not have a bunch of nice buildings and hotels because they have bad lines. Trust me if something does not look right as far as a line, 95% of the time it's you that has not accounted for something not them.  With that said if you are starting out, and you have a basic system in place you should not see more than 3 or 4 lines that might be off. If you are seeing more than that, that should tell you something is wrong right away.

One thing you must avoid at all costs in not to get trapped in the HOCKEY TRIVIA SAND PITT!
Knowing plenty of Hockey's history does not make and great handicapper instantly, it's a great weapon to have in your arsenal, specially in the playoffs, but by itself it will not bring you to the 55% comfort zone you want to be at for the season.

That should give you enough to get started with.

You can follow me on twitter for some of my plays and the rest are posted on Pregame.comhttp://pregame.com/forums/forums/7.aspx  my user name is ozzie2005
